The sky settles heavily onto the land, compressing distance and time. Light filters through layered atmospheres. I am fascinated by that tension between darkness and light—the sense of something arriving before it has quite reached you.

Nature is intrinsically local and grounds us in space and time. I am fascinated by the delicate balance between the cultivated and the natural. The natural providing thresholds and borders between the cultivated.

This painting holds the stillness of a summer day when heat seems to suspend everything: dry air, bleached light and a horizon dissolving into haze. I am fascinated by how the land still carries the traces of rain, even as summer dries it out. The vegetation feels fragile and tired, revealing glimpses of the earth beneath.

This painting holds that moment when the earth begins to wake after winter. The ground still feels heavy and compacted, yet beneath the surface something has already begun to move. I am fascinated by that quiet, invisible force—the persistence of new growth pushing upward towards light, long before we can see it.

24 × 30 cm —  ‚pannello‘ open frame in natural wood

Price 480€

This painting holds that charged stillness before the weather breaks, when the air grows heavy and the distinction between earth and sky seems to disappear. I am drawn to that sense of something gathering—the smell of the ground, the weight in the air, and the anticipation of rain. Everything feels suspended, waiting for change.

Mixed media: natural pigments, pastels, acrylics on canvas panel

40 × 50 cm — set in a ‚pannello‘ open frame in beech wood – as pictured.

This painting comes from my fascination with the ground as something that holds time. Walking through a landscape, I am often struck by traces of what lies beneath—the layers of soil, stone and sediment accumulated long before us. A small exposure can suddenly reveal that hidden depth, connecting the surface we see to a much longer history.

This painting comes from that first, almost imperceptible moment when new life begins to appear from the earth. I am drawn to the pale luminosity of early growth, when the ground seems to brighten from within. There is something quietly miraculous in that transition—from what has broken down and returned to the soil, something living begins again.

This painting comes from my fascination with the life beneath our feet. What we think of simply as ground is constantly changing—breaking down, accumulating and becoming fertile again. I am drawn to that hidden cycle of decay and renewal, and to the thought that even the smallest handful of soil contains an entire living world.
