This painting comes from my fascination with the landscape as a living system, where soil, plants, water and weather are inseparable from one another. I am drawn to that sense of abundance and interdependence—the feeling that everything is continually feeding, holding and transforming everything else. The ground is not a backdrop, but the source from which life emerges.
